Upon the hill

and should we leisurely gather our fading strength subdued under a scorching sun as we drag our beaten corpses upon this diamond-encrusted hill of make-believe where once a glorious light danced so eloquently beyond the glee now scorched our heavy-laden eyelids of blissfulignorance and abolish this burning veil of uninvited truth mocking our fleeting sanity could we honestly have been that naïve?
