Venus
The pen in my hand held loosely As I am lame to the writing From the abyss of my heart. Visions, snapshots - I walk back Taking bruises, taking pain I'm almost crawling now. Stop - before I lose my heart; I'll go insane. I see him now - I sat on his lap He ate oranges. I wiped his hands. They didn't let me Walk with him into the starry grave They wouldn't let me Go with my daddy. And it rained. Shall I look unto the star that is Venus, Daddy? The star that is you? Shall I grab it and hold it? As there is one for every dead And I said, I said it would be you.
