Philosophical

lo and behold its decadent body laid bare 
its depth arrives as a terribly horrific storm 
inexorably it comes on like a mighty tidal wave 
one is left helpless but to listen to its roar 
as it is heading inland to both drag and uplift 
 
it sweeps in from afar to make and break one 
bringing awareness of the necessity to give in 
as it will suck everything up to spit it back out 
while it verges on the precipice of realization 
much like sorrow it starts by crashing into itself 
 
it might seem quite futile to paddle but one must 
try to swim upstream against one's own selfish lust 
in order to gain one's life one must selflessly lose it 
to majestically ride within the curl of her wisdom 
feeling the upholding push of her life giving love
