Welcome to War

This was written in honor of my brother, who is a wounded soldier. Welcome to War Grandoise speeches stir their hearts. Reason flees before leader's promises. Welcome to War. Bright flashes light up deadly silouettes. Green strobes reflect on black guns. Welcome to War. Red floods fill the fields. Painful screams reverberate soundlessly. Welcome to War. Worried families bide the time. Concealing fears from the letters they write. Welcome to War. Folded flags commemorate Grief. Mother's tears fall on unfeeling stone. Welcome to War. Constant pain fills their minds. Remembered fear haunts their days. Welcome to War. Justice is undone, Vengence never satisfied. Lives are destroyed And countries torn. . . Welcome to War.
