Western warrior
Western Warrior western warrior, clad in beige, blends with desert’s dust. He greets the man, with open palms, an outward sign of trust. Hands are shaken lips part to smile, greeting words are spoken. Muzzle flash, rifle crack, the peaceful scene is broken. The man slumps down his lifeless eyes burn the soldier’s face western warrior, sits and cries alone in his disgrace. Tears that fall are wiped away, emotion, sign of meekness. He hoards inside the pent up pain to mask his fragile weakness. Another day duty calls, roadside vengeance threat engaging or invading? The soldier paid the debt Western warrior, broken body torn by shrapnel’s hell skin and bone, hearts and minds, lie scattered, where he fell.
