What Was I To Do?
We plotted to take over from the abusive ruler. We wanted to make a better future. We vowed to stay together through the rain and the storm, We were fighting in the struggle for freedom. We had a common goal and a direction to it. We use to practice our tactics of how we would do it. All that we waited for was a chance. Then, one day, as if the Gods had tempered with fate, The eagle left her nest, vulnerable to attacks. Without hesitation, we aimed and killed those inside. When the eagle returned and discovered the horror, Place a price for our capture, doubled if found alive. Traitors! They sold him out to save their skins. He was tortured and asked to name his accomplice Or bear the consequences of his silence. He was vacillating whether to confess and soon, He vomited our secret activities and left names. I knew what was next so I did the only reasonable thing to do. I put him to silence before they silence me.
