What Why Time

What and why is it when nearly all of the Western world has an obsession with time Old tall case clocks tick away year after year which can be considered a hypnotic rhym When a horologist adjusts a watch that is running fast or slow he uses a timegrapher Many people own many watches when one will tell the time fine Does not time run down an unreversible life towards our demise on an ageing path? A person without a watch might say to a stranger "Excuse me do you have the right time" He would never say "Excuse me do you have the wrong time" In the Amazon forests there are still elusive native tribes that don't have watches or clocks They use dawn and dusk to determine when its time to wake up or go to bed They use the sun, the moon, the planets and the stars as their Rolex timepiece So when you are out in town stop, sit down and let time fade away around you
