Whisper Out of Time
This is a lyricthat works as a poem too so I thought I'd post it anyway. But, because it is a song, I have used the word "gonna" instead of "going to"...to fit with the rhythm Whisper out of Time by Dawn Sinclair Even when you're here extinguishing my fear There's something to suspend reality, Each mesmerising gaze steals my minutes, hours, days But am I certain Fate intended you for me? When your shadow fades and nighttime presence shades I’m clutching at the memory of your kiss, My fingertips sweep the air but you are nowhere there And I am left with nothing but my wish. If your eyes should stray while you are far away I wouldn’t be surprised by that at all, My confidence grows less outside your tenderness And I feel certain then that you’ll forget to call. Seems unwritten law, that I am less secure, Your trust in me feels like a fatal blow. You never once feel afraid your love will be mislaid, So sure you are that I’ve nowhere to go. Crossing this divide, like walking side by side, Might prove to be too difficult for me, There’s always, in my heart, a fear while we’re apart That you will see the nature of our inequality. Do thoughts of me invade your icy masquerade? I’m clutching on to possibility, If there is one chance we may, walk hand in hand one day I’m gonna be right here when you need me. chorus When I think I am holding you, well maybe it is true - I'm clinging to the promise in your smile. Am I walking close behind, yet a whisper out of time? Can you hear my fears inside each breath I sigh?
