Whites Only
I walk by these walls of cold steel and grey concrete Images of those before me battered and abused for nothing I walk back through time dazed and confused by the pain that I see Life so different and full of potential Wasted I think of my father and his damaged soul I want to take it back and again make him whole but it's too late Then I see a sight that makes me so grateful Blood and guns and knives and chaos and I realize that we were the lucky ones I think of my walk through my life and here Sheltered and safe and not tarnished by those with no room for emotion I think of the youth and the blend so powerful I think of the smiles and laughs that we hear and I know things have changed Then I scan these walls and I thank every one of them for the struggle and strife so we may survive and I know I will always remember
