Why do we wash the cheese grater

With cold hard rock surrounding her, And gun’s so quick to fire, Nobody ever see’s the very passionate desire. The desire that burns so deep within That drives her crazy and fuels her sin, That wants them to wake up and see, How meaningless they will grow to be, And they will just accept this, And carry on like they were, In their mom and dad’s footsteps, As no desire burns. Why does it drive her crazy? To be something so new, Someone who really made a difference, Who history didn’t just step through, Not just a name in a long chain, Not just another person, Not a 9-5 queen, Or perfect family contortion, But mixed up in all her hopes and dreams, Is a dreaded thought That society will force her to be, This dreaded inevitable resort. Who go on holiday twice a year, Who eat fried food and drink lots of beer, Who frown at difference and pretend to love change, Who try to be different but end up the same, Who are struggling to be noticed but already were, The normal, the plastics, the high on fuel, The broken, cold hearted, the just too cool, The blamers, the saviours, the ones in need, Are we just people? Or people we are indeed. Are we all angels but sinners at heart? Maybe we should look at ourselves, Before judging the person, Who lives in the dark.
