Will We See Pigs Fly

Hedge funds and derivitives, the gambles that they choose. The goverment can,t let them fail, thats why they cannot lose. But what of all the people, working on the floors below. They,re excess to requirements now, and so they,ll have to go. Redundancies will ease the pain, for the Board, and C.E.O. Releasing funds for trading, as they watch their bonus grow. Cushioned by fat pension funds, they live in luxury. While the fallout from their toxic debt, will poison you and me. So will they learn the lessons, of their sub-prime lending spree. Will they reap the whirlwind, of our falling G.D.P. Or will they just increase the size, of the new "bid-offer spread". And charge us extra banking fees, to put us in the red. While they,re searching for "above trend growth", we,re searching for a meal. While we,re signing up for welfare checks, they,re checking out a deal. No recession as they sell our futures, down at Goldman Sachs. No expression, as the bankers steal the shirts, right off our backs. Lack of interest on our savings, will drive us all insane. But the bankers in their ivory towers, will never feel the pain. Their investments are protected, their stock will never fall. They,ll be going back to Wall Street, we,ll be going to the wall. So will the system ever change, will excess be curtailed. Will regulation work, where self regulation failed. Will ambitious men resist the urge, to cheat and steal and lie. Will bankers give up bonus pay, and will we see pigs fly.
