With One Eye Closed
With One Eye Closed I often hear of the beauty though I'm not sure how to look Apparently - It's all around I see but can't believe I'm 'happy' to exist here While I struggle to actually live To space the difference is beyond me Just there but out of reach My eyes are open Yet I'm not awake As chalk and cheese I watch the sleeping dog Unable to let go into oblivion; Stuck in between Resisting full submersion Into the dream world I inhabit In reverse harmony I cannot emerge, thus Unable to comprehend reality So I will continue and Endure each day Each month Each year Waiting... Not that I've surrendered Every minute I will seek Hope will not escape me as I glimpse the light Momentarily Strengthening my belief Empowering my search Either way it goes I have the faith I'll one day reach The end of my tunnel.
