Within a Moment
We waltz beneath the velvet veils Of skies through which our laughter sails Entranced by false ideals and lies We sing each other with our eyes, Desires merge into demands Our bodies grab our starving hands As dripping lips lick tender tongues To the hastening cadence of our lungs. Within this moment we exist Immune to transient desist Two atoms yearning to collide Exposing mysteries inside. The climax of our love gains fast To soon be chiseled into past The snarling storm clouds flash in strife Two silhouettes through fogs of life. Can moments make our lives worthwhile? Or just nostalgically beguile? In vain I struggle to decide Do I miss then, or you tonight? Some say as death engulfs the skies Our lives shall dance before our eyes What bitter sweetness it will be To then once more be loved by thee.
