Within Night's Embrace
Shall I draw pictures on your naked chest with my fingertips, tiptoeing lightly through the fine grass of this scape, colour them in with tender kisses from the paintbrush of my lips; would all my tender touches give your thoughts their shape? May I lie quietly in your arms until the new day's birth, feeling the tendrils of your cool breath kiss my cheek and would your eyes gaze into mine until the moon makes claim to night, harvesting every grain of knowledge that you seek? For through the window panes of azure you would find me, as you have found me every day since time inhaled, so, when I feel your eyes caressing every crevice of my soul I must relinquish all my secrets so long veiled. Could I reach out for just one whisper of my heart’s thrum, casting out shadows from sculptured furrows of your fears? I'd steal their spirits into the prison of my loving hand for you, safe from elusion until the morning light appears. And as my eyelids drape all the yearnings of my yesterday, may I still nest here with your breath upon my face? Acting as guardian of all my dreams, please hold them preciously while cherished love presides within the night's embrace.
