Words
Mere words you say? The tie that binds as souls intertwine, spun with golden strands Valiantly sugar-coated under a lover’s moon A paradox at best Shredding, flicking its serpent-like tongues, through the thickened air of dire consequences, that weep These toxic lullabies, putting infants to sleep Never dies, but lingers Through harsh undertones with a guard still sleeping, when uttered too soon Fruitless like wisdom in retrospect Applied like cheap confetti Strewn to hearts under false pretense. Words that make amends, makes no sense A blessing, a curse by poets design Mere words you say? I beg to differ For it’s absence shall ensure Our death
