WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT
Do you know how many people are trying to write for money that don’t make it?” “It’s kind of far-fetched to think that you could become successful at something so competitive!” “Your writing is not legitimate!” “Do you know what the odds are that you will ever sell anything you write?” “For every success story there are a million rejection letters” “Yeah, you’ve got talent, but so what…so have thousands of others and they never made it!” “If it’s something you like, you won’t make money at it, I can tell you that right now!” “For god’s sake, do something practical or lucrative with your time!” WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT * Words draw blood like a surgeon’s scalpel carving out thoughts of anything hopeful. * But I am stubborn, and so is my will. The more they say no, the more I’m determined. * If they say no, then I say yes! If they say can’t, I put it to the test. * If they say how? I say watch! The things they say just toughen me up! * Don’t listen to words from those in the know, who gave upon dreams a long time ago. * If there’s a place for a writer like me, please let me fulfill my own destiny. * Don’t listen to words of encouragement, from those who’ll say You’ll never succeed * Believe in yourself and all you can give That’s all you can do and all that you'll need! * Stop listening to the dead, who killed their own spirit If success came calling they wouldn't evenhear it. * But dwell in a place, where all things are possible Impervious to defeat, like a little child. * WordPlaya, July 2009

I enjoy writing and since rediscovering the power of poetry, it has brought me much joy! My favorite poet is Richard Brautigan, and I am a big fan of freestyle poetry, as I find it less limiting and most creative. I also like spoken word poetry. ...
