Yesterday People
Unwilling to cross over to natural exchange They stay behind without witnessing its beauty Silently wishing to co-exist with time Their lonely souls wondering for tomorrow Finding themselves stuck in a world of today When will they stop living for yesterday? Brewing yesterday in their palms Destroying traces of tomorrow and today Finding that they now live in between Wishing for yesterday to arrive Never seeing the beauty of not knowing Dying aimlessly in between days Previous encounters of remembered times left behind Chaining themselves to days that run by Never letting go of memories that haunt Living in yesterday when today is tomorrow Tripping into darkness where between feels safe They hold tight to hurt and pain Painfully I watch them jump back, not forward Never easy to see another suffer Wanting to push them forward but they are glued to yesterday Sensing that days are numbered they consolidate yesterday But yesterday is dead.
