Yesterday's man
Chastise my soul with my fears Take my faith and break it in two Erase my existence with the flow of tears And then let me fade away with memories of you Watch me crumble a yesterday’s man And in this time of sorrow Walk away and let go of my hand Leave me alone and leave me hollow Let me forget the beauty of your smile I want to forget the sadness in these eyes But before you go stay a while Watch me fall apart with the whisper of your goodbyes Take a look at everything you broke inside me See the crimson pain run down my arms Let go of yesterday’s promises and set them free Take back yesterday’s pain and remove the harm I promised that I would be here forever But I’ll let me fade from the man I was yesterday I swore that we would always be together I wanted everything to always be okay I wanted you to feel the happiness you always wanted I wanted you to forget the pain I feel today But a yesterday’s man can’t keep you enchanted And nothing I say will make you want to stay
