I often think back on the good and bad I did as a youth, in yesteryear I was a fool, I hardly attended school and educated myself, in yesteryear I would read none fiction books and Nationalgeographic to, in yesteryear When the police would come I would start to run, in yesteryear When I had done bad I would go to the Saturday confessional, in yesteryear For I used it to be forgiven, knowing I could be cleansed of sin, in yesteryear When I did well because I was a scallywag I'd get no praise, in yesteryear We had a secret, our parish priest bought stolen cigarettes from us, in yesteryear It was In the 1980"s if you needed it to live but you couldn't afford it, in yesteryear Baby comes, there's no crib for it to lay in, we get one that very day, in yesteryear People in dire need did not have to come hands out and plead, in yesteryear No questions were asked about where anything came from, in yesteryear The older i grew i was more useful to the local gangster's crew, in yesteryear From earning a few pounds a week it rose to hundreds and more, in yesteryear I was generous and kind but Robin Hood in me you would not find, in yesteryear From my Catholic upbringing, I would look after the meek and weak, in yesteryear Mum and dad wouldn't take what I had for it came from crime, in yesteryear I rose up the gangster ladder but that came with paranoia, in yesteryear My friend sitting beside me was shot dead his head was in my lap, in yesteryear People did whisper you live by the sword you die by the sword, in yesteryear From that day I found it is true when people say crime doesn't pay, in yesteryear To that, I do say you can change your criminal way, and I have done this for 10 years to this day, in these past 10 years I wrote this creative write/poem regarding my criminal gangster past and the reasons why they were the way they was are because it has been 10 years since I turned my life around, I am now a Rosicrucian Christian ( if you don't know what that is look it up on Google or Wikipedia if you have time ) The use of yesteryear so many times is deliberate to input it into my and other reader's minds and this is how. it came into my thought possess Kind Regards to you all

I have a mental health illness and I was a inpatient in a private secure mental health hospital not because i was a danger to the public but because i myself was the only person who was in danger from me was myself and that will reflect in my poetry...
