You don’t know me
You see my harsh exterior, You see my attitude, You see just what you want to, But you just don’t have a clue. You see my seething anger, You see what I don’t hide, You see just what I let you, You don’t see the pain inside. You think that I am really strong, You think I’m really tough, You think that you’ve seen enough, But you haven’t seen enough. You think I’m very stable, You think I’ve got it made, You see my life as cut and dry, But not the price I’ve paid. Don’t hate me ‘cos I’m not like that, And please do not feel guilt, I never want to jeopardise, This friendship that we’ve built. My feelings always govern me, But I lock them all away, Eventually I’ll let them out, But maybe not today. ‘cos you don’t really know me, And you don’t know my pain, So please don’t say you’re sorry, ‘cos you’re not the one to blame.
