I am happy to announce this one is not autobiographical, although it would be if the same fate befell me... Your God…Your Prayers Mention my name as you pray Tell Him I did what I could Say that I would have done more If only I had understood Tell Him I’d tell Him myself If He’d blessed me the way He blessed you With the same attribute of clear thought And the arrow-straight aim of your view Send Him my warmest regards When you walk through the gates on your way Don’t tell Him to favour my cause though Upon my judgement day I’ll miss you Love, you know by now But I won’t follow there I’m afraid Still mention my name in your prayers Love And tell Him my debt has been paid He steals you and forfeits my faith He robs me of all I hold dear When you walk up those heavenly steps Then your God can no longer live here
